Private Stock has been repairing Montréal vehicles since 1998. Family shop, ARQ-certified, still governed by the same founding principle: tell the truth about what a vehicle needs.
The shop
Built on craft,
held together by trust.
Our founder opened Private Stock because he was tired of watching customers pay for work they did not need. A decade in dealerships had taught him what an honest diagnosis looks like; and what it is worth.
Today, the second generation runs the floor. The names have changed. The approach has not. Six lifts, a laser alignment bench and professional diagnostic equipment: all operated by certified mechanics who are also shop owners.
We added the rental fleet in 2007 because clients asked for it. We service every vehicle ourselves. When we hand you the keys to a rental, we know exactly what condition it is in.
Timeline
Shop founded on Rue de la Mécanique in Montréal. One lift, two mechanics, zero tolerance for approximation.
Second generation joins the shop. New OBD2 diagnostic station. First fleet vehicle added.
Expansion to 6 lifts. ARQ certification obtained. Hybrid & electric vehicle training programme started.
Laser 4-wheel alignment bench installed. Fleet at 8 vehicles. Over 500 verified Google reviews.

Diagnose first
Every repair starts with a written diagnosis. You see what we found, why it matters, and what it costs: before we touch anything. Zero surprises on the invoice.
OEM or better
We use original or equivalent parts on every job. Not the cheapest option on the shelf. If a part comes in three quality tiers, we tell you which one we recommend; and why.
12-month warranty, in writing
Every labour job we perform is warranted 12 months or 20,000 km. Your invoice is your certificate. No fine print, no exceptions on the work we do.
You keep your wheels
Repair taking more than a day? Take one of our rental vehicles at $20/day instead of $75. We service every car in the fleet ourselves; we know exactly what condition it is in.
